Charlotte O Stout

Charlotte O'Brien Stout of Jonesborough entered into the Father's Kingdom on Monday, August 15, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was a native of Jonesborough and a daughter of the late Eva Kyker O'Brien and Orville Eugene O'Brien. Charlotte proclaimed the name of Jesus with the Glory Aires Quartet and was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church and the Challengers Sunday School Class. She loved both her immediate and church families. Charlotte retired from MSHA after serving 42 years in the ER. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Kenny, Wayne and Preston O'Brien. Left to cherish her memory include her husband, Ron Stout of 49 years; a son, Gregory Mashburn; a daughter, Rhonda Kelly; brothers, David O'Brien and wife, Mary Kay, Ricky O'Brien and wife, Tammy and John O'Brien; sisters, Shirley Lunceford and husband, Lester, Sharon Rice, Sherry Potter and husband, Bobby and Carlene Duncan; six grandchildren, Ashley Peterson, Matthew Stout, Alan Mashburn, Beth Mashburn, Dylan Stout and Dakota Stout; one great-grandchild, Kyleigh Peterson. Also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Charlotte will be conducted at 7:00 PM Thursday, August 18, 2016 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with Rev. Butch Stout officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until the service hour. Graveside services will be held 10:00 AM Friday, August 19, 2016 in Maplelawn Cemetery, Jonesborough. Pallbearers will be selected from the family and friends. For those attending you are asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:50 AM. The family extends a special gratitude to Wellmont Cancer center, Dr. Maatouk and Caris Hospice for their kindness.
