Charles (C.W.) Walker Conley Jr.

Charles (C.W.) Conley Jr., 78, 1705 Miami Drive, Johnson City passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2012 in the Franklin Woods Community Hospital. He was a native of Unicoi County and was a son of the late Charles and Sarah Woodby Conley. Mr. Conley was a brick mason and was a longtime member of King Springs Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Birdie Holmes Conley in 2001; also two brothers, John and George Conley. He is survived by two sons, Charles Robert Conley and George Lee Conley and his wife, Darlene all of Johnson City; five sisters, Sarah J. Miller, Ida Bryant and her husband, Gene, Betty Pate and her husband, Bill, Bessie Peterson and Kate Conley all of Johnson City; a brother, Bill Conley and his wife, Sandy of Johnson City; five grandchildren, Mike, Rachael, Haley, Nick and Autumn Conley; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services for Mr. Conley will be conducted at 7:00 PM Thursday, September 27, 2012 in the Woodall-Anderson and Dugger Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Cornett officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 5:00 PM until the service hour. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, September 28, 2012 in the Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Jonesborough. Everyone attending this service is asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:20 AM to go in procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from the family and friends. The family would like to offer special thanks to the entire staff of Lakebridge Health Care Center for the wonderful care they provided for Mr. Conley during his admission there from January of this year.
