Charles "Corey" Corwin DeMaya

March 29, 1940 - September 2, 2019

Charles Corwin “Corey” DeMaya, 79, Johnson City passed away Monday, September 2, 2019 in the Franklin Woods Community Hospital. He was a native of Manhatten, New York and was a son of the late Charles and Janet Ewart DeMaya. Mr. DeMaya moved to Bradenton, Florida at a young age and lived there until 2004 when he moved to Johnson City. He was a veteran having serving his country in the U.S. Marine Corp. Mr. DeMaya was a diesel mechanic and had worked on heavy equipment most of his life. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Kathryn Armstrong Cochran. Survivors include a son, Charles Lonney DeMaya and wife, Lisa of Bradenton; a daughter, Donna DeMaya of Bradenton; three grandchildren, Jenna, Chelsea and Adam DeMaya; three great grandchildren, Wyatt, Lainey and Riley Demaya; three nephews, Bill, Curtis and Mark Armstrong; a niece, Linda Armstrong and a brother-in-law, Baxter Cochran. Graveside services for Mr. DeMaya will be conducted at 2:30 PM Tuesday, September 10, 2019 in the Mountain Home National Cemetery with Military Honors accorded by the Carter County Honor Guard.
