Brenda Gail Rainey, 52, 354 Mosier Road, Johnson City passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2013 in the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City. Ms. Rainey was a daughter of Edna Nickelson Bennett of Johnson City and the late Johnnie Bennett. She was retired due to disability from Appalachian Christian Village. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by a son, Jason Thornton; a brother, Tommy Bennett and her fiancee, Allen OQuinn. Survivors in addition to her mother include a daughter, Anna Campbell of Johnson City; five brothers, Willard Bennett, Grundy, VA, Lloyd Bennett, Tracy Bennett and Eric Bennett all of Johnson City and Gene Bennett and his wife, Patty of Gray; three sisters, Nancy Bennett, Elizabethton, Christine Rainey, Johnson City and Cindy Smith and husband, Edward, Johnson City; a granddaughter, Kourtnee Wheelock; several nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service for Ms. Rainey will be conducted at 7:00 PM Friday, April 19, 2013 in the Woodall-Anderson and Dugger Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Dugger and Cindy Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 5:30 until 7:00 PM.
