Bobby Ray Owens

Bobby Ray Owens, 80, went home to be with Lord, Wednesday, May 30, 2012 in the John M. Reed Nursing Home. He was a native of Greene County and had lived in Piney Flats and was a son of the late George and Nannie Owens Frye. Mr. Owens was a truck driver and was a member of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four sons, Randy, Robert, Thomas and Bobby Owens Jr.; a grandson and a nephew; his second wife, Marjorie Miller. Survivors include his first wife, Dorothy Owens; six children, Janice Carty, Erwin, Liz Owens, Jeff Owens both of Bristol, Kenny Miller, Sherry Owens, Johnson City and Billy Miller of Cynthiana, Ohio; a brother, Roger Owens; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter, Avery M. James; a nephew; A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Thursday, June 7, 2012 at the Tri-Cities Church of God in Piney Flats with the Rev. Richard Bawgus officiating. The family will greet friends after the service and other times at the home of a daughter, Janice Carty, Erwin.
