Billy Daniel Shelton

Billy Daniel Shelton, 39, 531 Old Embreeville Road, Jonesborough passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 31, 2014 in Cherokee, North Carolina. He was a native of Johnson City and a son of Patricia South Shelton of Johnson City and the late Billy Warren Shelton. Daniel was a member of the Eden United Methodist Church in Jonesborough. He was retired due to disability and had served in the U.S. Marine Corp. Daniel loved his family and enjoyed all sports, especially watching his children play softball. In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife, Sally Sauls Shelton of the home; four children, Kaetlan Shelton, Dylan Shelton, Sydney Shelton and Alex Killion Shelton; a brother, Johnny Shelton and wife, Jenny of Knoxville; an aunt, Ima Jean Lowe and husband, Doug of Holly Springs, NC; a niece, Sophie Shelton; a nephew, Isaiah Shelton; and cousins, Mitchell Lowe and wife, Della, Brian and Justin Lowe. Funeral services for Daniel will be conducted at 1:30 PM Wednesday, June 4, 2014 in the Eden United Methodist Church, 1620 Mill Springs Road, Jonesborough, TN 37659 with Rev. Clyde Hester officiating. Burial will follow in the Maplelawn Cemetery, Jonesborough. Active pallbearers will be Richard Grindstaff, Dwight Gentry, Chris Hammaker, Dana Ramsey, Lane Hughes and Mitchell Lowe. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Shelton and Brian Lowe. The family will receive friends at the church Wednesday from 12:00 noon until the service hour.
