Betty Ruth Talley, 86, formerly of 304 Royal Street, Johnson City passed away Monday, January 12, 2015 in the Lakebridge Health Care Center. She was a native of Tulsa, Oklahoma and was the daughter of the late Jim and Mabel Henson Baker. Mrs. Talley had worked for McDonalds in Johnson City and Joe's Drive In. Mrs. Talley was a member of the Pentecostal faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles A. Hilton in 1962 and her second husband, Jesse Talley in 2011. also a great-grandson, Jay Bennett. Survivors include a daughter, Ruby Bennett of Johnson City; a granddaughter, Vicki Moody and husband, Andrew; a grandson, Charles Bennett both of Johnson City; two great-grandchildren, Charles Spencer Bennett Jr. and Tiffany Janelle Bennett; a great-great-grandson, Conner Bennett. Funeral services for Mrs. Talley will be conducted at 7:00 PM Wednesday, January 14, 2015 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with the Rev. Gene Deaton officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until the service hour. Private family committal service will be held at a later date.
