Betty Louanne Cooper

Betty Louanne Cooper, 76, 3210 Unicoi Drive, Unicoi went home to be with the Lord, Monday, July 18, 2016 in the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native of Avery County, NC and was a daughter of the late Gilbert and Destalee Woody Reed. Mrs. Cooper was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God faith. She loved the Lord and was a dedicated Christian and prayer warrior. Mrs. Cooper loved and enjoyed her family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Sonny, Mike and David Reed. Survivors include her husband, John Cooper of the home; four children, Ronnie Honeycutt and wife, Sandy of Johnson City, Susie Honeycutt of Erwin, James Honeycutt of Elizabethton and John Cooper Jr. of Erwin; three sisters, Nancy Johnson of Newland, NC, Janelle Coy Penrose of Nashville and Ginger Saylor of Ohio; a brother, Chip Coy of Texas; four grandchildren, Ronnie and Crystal Honeycutt of Elizabethton, Sammy Rogers of Louisiana and Jason McKinney of Missouri; five great-grandchildren, Hunter Honeycutt, Phillip McKinney, Zoie, Brodie and Sophie Rogers; brothers and sisters-in-laws, Fred and Bob Cooper, Norma and Brent Vineyard, Richard and Clara Garcia and Ann Ables; a special friend, Marie Babb; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Cooper will be conducted at 7:00 PM Thursday, July 21, 2016 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with the Rev. Dallas Gregg and Mr. Brent Vineyard officiating. Special music will be provided by Bob Cooper and Norma Vineyard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until the service hour. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, July 22, 2016 in the Cooper Family Cemetery, Marbleton Road, Unicoi. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. For those attending this service you are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50 AM.
