Beatrice Nicholson Johnson Saylor, 2208 Hicks Road, Johnson City passed away Sunday, June 3, 2012 in the Johnson City Medical Center. She was born in Champaign, Illinois in 1941. Mrs. Saylor was a daughter of the late Douglas Gilison Nicholson and Helen Frances Gurney Nicholson. She was a homemaker and retired food service director at First Presbyterian Church in Johnson City. Mrs. Saylor was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Hart Avenue, Johnson City. She did not lose her battle with cancer, that gives the feeling that she was a victim of cancer. Anyone who knew her will agree she was a victor and she ran the good race. Survivors include her husband, Lester (Bud) Saylor; a brother, Don Nicholson, Richmond, VA; two sons, Bruce Lee Johnson and his wife, Katherine, Texas and Robert William Johnson and his wife, Shelley of Limestone; two daughters, Lisa Joan Vestal and her husband, Bob of Jonesborough and Deborah Kay Fair and her husband, Dennis of Johnson City; grandchildren, Rachel and Nicholas Johnson, Hilary Edminsten and husband, Jared and Daniel Webster; great-grandsons, Joshua and Samuel Edminsten; several nieces and nephews and six step-children and their families. The Home Going service for Mrs. Saylor will be conducted at 7:30 PM Thursday, June 7, 2012 in the Calvary Baptist Church, 515 Hart Avenue, Johnson City with Pastor Jim Chatman officiating. The family will receive friends at the church Thursday from 5:30 PM until the service time. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, June 8, 2012 in the Fairview Cemetery, Jonesborough. Everyone attending this service is asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50 AM. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial donations be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 515 Hart Avenue, Johnson City, TN 37604. The family would like to give special thanks to the entire staff of 5200 wing of the Johnson City Medical Center.
