Barbara June Robinson

Mrs. Barbara June Robinson, age 76, of 1022 John Exum Parkway, Johnson City passed away Friday, January 25, 2013 at the Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Yancey County, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Carl Monroe and Lillis Samantha Arrwood Mitchell. Mrs. Robinson was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, James R. Shelton, II; two brothers, James Jefferson Mitchell and Gary Lynn Mitchell; one sister, Marie Mitchell. Survivors include a son, Roger K. Ray, Johnson City; a daughter, Reda A. Shelton, Johnson City; a brother, Ralph D. Mitchell, Elizabethton; grandson, Daniel A. Ray and wife Nikki, Johnson City; a cousin and close friend, Savannah Garden, Johnson City; Three aunts, Ida Ruth Phillips, Lovie Laws, and Iva Mitchell, all of Yancey County, North Carolina. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 2:30 P.M., Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at McCurry Cemetery, Burnsville, North Carolina, with Rev. Larry Dugger officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11:30 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of Woodall-Anderson & Dugger Funeral Home, Johnson City.
