Audene “Dean” Edwards, 87, Telford, unexpectedly went to be with the Lord Sunday, May 24, 2020, at Franklin Woods Community Hospital. Dean was a native of Greene County and had been a Washington County resident for most of her life. She was a daughter of the late Arville and Eula Victoria Bowers Reaves. Dean worked in the Commercial Loan department of the former Hamilton and SunTrust Banks for nearly thirty years before retiring in the late 1990’s. She was a faithful servant of God, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, and served as Treasurer and Church Clerk at Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church, her second home. She had a passion for the outdoors, tending to her land and flowers daily, setting floral arrangements and crocheting as often as she could. In addition to her parents, Dean was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Edwards, in 1997, two brothers, Phillip and Eugene Reaves, two sisters, Rosa Lee Murr and Betty Lou Ferguson, in-laws, Robert Edwards, Ronnie and Rene Edwards, nephew, Michael Williams. She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Dickenson and husband Michael, Johnson City; her grandson Jeremy Dickenson and Lyndsy, Johnson City; nephew, Keith Williams, Johnson City; in-laws, Harold and Marty Edwards, Wayne and Betty Edwards, Ted and Donna Edwards, Marsha Edwards, Mark and Brenda Beatty; many loving nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at 7:00 P.M., at Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church, with Rev. Jim Chapman and Rev. Paul Crowe, officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:00-7:00 P.M. in the sanctuary of the church. During this time, it is recommended to continue practicing social distancing and each are encouraged to wear a protective mask. The graveside committal service will be held Wednesday at 11:30 A.M. in Roselawn Memory Gardens. Final viewing and those planning to attend are requested to meet at Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Ave., Johnson City, TN 37601, between 10:00 and 11:00 A.M. to proceed to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those who prefer to make memorial contributions in-lieu-of flowers may do so in Dean’s name to Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee, 1020 Jericho Dr., Kingsport, TN 37663, or Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church, 1004 E.
