Arthur John Price

Arthur John Price, 85, formerly of 125 Bradley Gouge Road, Johnson City passed away Friday, December 19, 2014 in the Life Care Center of Gray. He was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County and was a son of the late Robert and Verna Cox Price. Mr. Price was retired from the City of Johnson City and the Pine Oaks Golf Course. He attended the Johnson City Baptist Temple. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Ann Sherfey Price in 1998; a brother, Virgil Price and a sister, Pauline Ford. Survivors include four sons, Jeff Price, Mark Price and wife, Daisy all of Gray, Timothy Price and Jimmy Price and wife, Tammy all of Johnson City; four daughters, Robin Wolfe and husband, George, Teresa Gross and husband, Tony, Becky Casteel and husband, Tony and Julie Murr all of Johnson City; a sister, Josephine Sherfey and husband, Billy of Johnson City; a sister-in-law, Agnes Price of Johnson City; sixteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Price will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday, December 21, 2014 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with Pastor Mark Price officiating. Special music will be provided by Tommy Price and Tony Casteel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home form 1:00 PM until the service hour. Graveside services will follow in the Sulphur Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff, Jimmy, Mark, Timothy, Dusty and Shannon Price.
