For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even unto death.. Psalm 48:14 Antonia Sue Calhoun, 67, of Hampton passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2014 at her residence after an extended illness. She was born February 1, 1947 to the late William and Ruby Johnson Whisnant. Mrs. Calhoun was a native and lifelong resident of Carter County. She enjoyed time spent with friends and family, and was especially fond of her grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Star Whisnant. She is survived by a son, Doug Calhoun and his wife, Monica; a daughter, Hope Calhoun; a brother, Bill Whisnant Jr.; three grandchildren, Jacob, Jonah and Julia Calhoun. Graveside services for Mrs. Calhoun will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, March 31, 2014 in the Happy Valley Memorial Park. For those attending you are asked to meet at the cemetery. There will be no formal visitation. The family wishes to extend special thanks to her dear friends Betty Guy, Ann Hill, Verna Buckles and her many friends at Spring Street Apartments.
