Mrs. Ann Tipton, 70, Johnson City passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013 in the Franklin Woods Community Hospital. She was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and was a daughter of the late Hayden and Edna Coffman Hall. Mrs. Tipton was a member of the Pinecrest Christian Church of Johnson City. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Hall and an aunt, Lena Combs. Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Carl R. Tipton; a daughter, Rhonda Edens and her husband, Rick of Telford; three sisters, Mary West and husband, Frank of Johnson City, Judy Story and husband, Paris and Jane Bradtmueller and husband, Jon all of Jonesborough; a brother, John Hall and wife, Judy of Johnson City; a sister-in-law, Brenda Hall of Elizabethton; a granddaughter, Jordan Richards and her husband, Matt of Telford; a grandson, Adam Edens of Telford; several brothers and sisters-in-law; also several nieces and nephews. Graveside services for Mrs. Tipton will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, May 3, 2013 in the Washington County Memory Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with the Mr. Randy Hyatt and Mr. Randy Carrier officiating. Pallbearers will be Rick and Adam Edens, Matt Richards, Mark Story, Mike Hall and James "Bud" Story. For those attending this service you are asked to meet at the cemetery. There will be no formal visitation but friends may call at the home of the daughter, Rhonda Edens, 2074 Old State Route 34, Telford, TN 37690. The family would like to offer special thanks to Roxanne Underwood of Franklin Woods Community Hospital and Mountain States Hospice Group for the wonderful care they provided. And to the staff of Woodall-Anderson and Dugger Funeral Home for their compassion and friendship to the family. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to the Pinecrest Christian Church, 124 Woodland Drive, Johnson City, TN 37601.
