Angela “Angie” Victoria Maines, 51, Johnson City passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020 in the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and was a daughter of the late Theresa Carpenter Maines and Fred L. Maines of Johnson City. Angie was a member of the Temple of Faith Church in Jonesborough and had worked in Food Service Management for many years. She loved her family and loved to cook and would plan for every holiday. Angie remembered every birthday and she believed in celebrating with love, food and family. She loved to sing and listen to music, and would always be singing and praising around the house and at church. Angie loved to sing for the Lord. She was very well known in the neighborhood where she lived, she loved the kids and they would follow her and she would love on them and always encourage them. She was the best sister, she would always take care of me, my brothers and family. In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, George and Edith Carpenter and her paternal grandparents, Fred and Lula Maines. Survivors include her father, Fred L. Maines of Johnson City; three brothers, Juan Carpenter, Shane Collins and James Allen Maines; two sisters, Shauntina Swann and Whitney Maines; her step-father, Johnny Collins; nephews, Johua Swann and Xavier Sellers; three uncles, Fletcher Woods, Greg Maines and Steven Maines; also many cousins and friends. Funeral services for Angie will be conducted at 1:00 PM Friday, December 18, 2020 at Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the service hour. Graveside services will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Jonesborough. Pallbearers will be selected from the family and friends. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
