Romans 8:38-39 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.Alexandra Michelle Ellis Goulds, 27, and infant daughter Stella Dawn Goulds, of Johnson City, went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at their residence. She was a resident of Carter and Washington County most of her life. Alex was a member of Happy Valley Church of Jesus Christ and a former member of Valley Forge Christian Church. She graduated from Hampton High School where she was a cheerleader and later attended North East State Community College. Alex was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and friend. Her daughter Zoe was the light of her life. She loved her dog Abu. Alex enjoyed reading, coloring, family dinners, and family beach trips. Alex was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, James D. Hoffman; and paternal grandfather, Donald Milburn Ellis. She is survived by her parents, David and Terri (Hoffman) Ellis; husband, Benjamin Goulds, daughter, Zoe Lynn Goulds; mother and father-in-law, Phil and Cheryl Goulds; brothers, Dylan Ellis and wife Laurel, Josh Ellis and wife Gemma; special sister, Mary Francis Ward; aunts, Michelle Ward and husband Kale, Jennifer Hughes and husband Robert, Trish Cole and husband Mike, Joel Younce and wife Renie, Jennifer Harrah and husband Joe; paternal grandmother, Frances Ellis; maternal grandmother, Louise Hoffman; grandparent-in-laws, Jack and Ruth Anne Younce; brother-in-law, Luke Goulds; cousins, Nathanael Hughes, Matthew Hughes, Mibby Hughes, Steven and Alexis Cole, Gabriel and Michael Harrah, Hannah and Lauren Younce, and Jimmy Ellis. The family of Alex Goulds will gather to greet friends and share memories on Tuesday July 7, 2020 at Happy Valley Church of Jesus Christ from 4:00pm-7:00pm. A Funeral Service will follow at 7:00pm with Pastor Donny Reagan officiating. Committal Service and Interment will be held on Wednesday July 8, 2020 at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Scott Morgan and David Siebenaler, Ministers officiating. Pallbearers will be Nathanael Hughes, Mibby Hughes, Matthew Hughes, Steven Cole, Lucas Roark, Robert Hughes, Kale Ward, and Mike Cole. Honorary pallbearers will be the Hampton High School Class of 2012, friends at City Market, friends from Valley Forge Christian Church, former Youth Minister Scott Morgan and wife Aleta, and special friends Chesine Cox, Jessica Sams, Ashton Slagle, and Dorothy Dugger. In lieu of flowers, an educational trust fund will be set up for her daughter Zoe, at Carter County Bank (Bank of Tennessee) Pine Crest Branch.
