Ada M. Reeser

Mrs. Ada M. Reeser, 84, 136 Reeser Road, Johnson City passed away Thursday, December 8, 2011 at her residence. She was a native of Unicoi County and had lived there until her early teens then moved to Limestone and graduated from Chuckey High School then married and lived her adult life in Johnson City. Mrs. Reeser was a daughter of the late Dave and Cora Alice Jones McInturff. She was a homemaker and had worked at Appalachian Christian Village. Mrs. Reeser was a longtime member of the Cedar Grove Baptist Church and a member of the University Parkway Baptist Church at the time of her death. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School, quilting, gardening and cooking. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Orgil C. Reeser who passed away in 1980; two brothers, William and Everett McInturff; three sisters, Lily McLaughlin, Edith Hopson and Ruby McInturff; a sister-in-law, Eva Reeser and a special nephew, Raymond McLaughlin. Survivors include three daughters, Alice R. Cloyd and her husband, John (Moe) of Telford, Patsy R. Warlick and her husband, Jim of Gray and Charlotte R. Walker of Johnson City; a son, Ronnie C. Reeser and his wife, Debbie of Johnson City; two sisters, Hazel Starkey, Palmyra, VA and Gladys Arrwood of Gary, Indiana; six grandchildren, Robin C. Miller and her husband, Scotty, Angie H. Wesley and her husband, Wes, Brittany Hicks, Adam R. Reeser and his wife, Ashley, Andrew C. Reeser and his wife, Alisha and Steven D. Walker; nine great-grandchildren, R. Chase Miller, Ethan R.Wesley, Regan C. Miller, Aiden D. Wesley, Logan Blake Reeser, Lauren A. Reeser, Landon A. Reeser, Caleb C. Reeser and Callen R. Wesley; a special cousin, Dorothy Reeser of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Mrs. Reeser will be conducted at 6:30 PM Saturday, December 10, 2011 in the West Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with the Rev. Dan Wood and Dr. Michael Oakes officiating. Music will be provided by Anne Bowers and Patricia Miller. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 5:00 PM until the service time. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, December 11, 2011 in the Roselawn Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Scotty and Chase Miller, Roy (Wes), Ethan and Aiden Wesley, Adam and Andrew Reeser and Steven Walker. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Reeser, John Cloyd and Jim Warlick. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Michael Grosserode and Dr. Rodney Houghton for their kindness and friendship. Woodall-Anderson and Dugger Funeral Home, 108 W.
