Tommy Steven Franklin, 62, Johnson City passed away Friday, May 18, 2018 in the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Kingsport and was a son of Norma Louise Holbrooke Franklin of Johnson City and the late Fred Mack Franklin. He was a graduate of Science Hill High School. Tommy had worked as a painter for the Johnson City Housing Authority. He was an avid New York Yankees fan and also loved all of UT sports.
Survivors in addition to his mother includes three brothers, Benny Franklin and wife, Carla, Joseph G. Franklin and Freddie Franklin all of Johnson City; a nephews, Jonathan Franklin.
Funeral services for Tommy will be conducted at 2:30 PM Wednesday, May 23, 2018 in the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City with Pastor Jason Hoagland officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the service hour. Graveside services will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Johnson City. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Franklin, Billy Joe Hill, Keith and Eddie Greer.
