Myra Woodard Moore, 93, of Johnson City passed away Thursday, February 8, 2018 in the NHC Healthcare in Johnson City. She was a native of Cordele, Georgia and was a daughter of the late Henry and Creasy Lou O’Steen Woodard. Mrs. Moore moved to Johnson City at a young age and had worked and retired from J C Penney’s. She was a member of the Watauga Avenue Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Moore enjoyed reading, flowers and gardening and especially spending time with her family and her many friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, James E. Moore; two brothers, Clarence and Aldene Moore and two sisters, Louise Thompson and Jewell Corbitt.
Survivors include a granddaughter, Katy Goins and husband, Derrick of Greeneville; a grandson, Brad Moore and wife, Tara of Jonesborough; three great-grandchildren, Corrinne Moore, Lexie Moore and Dakota Goins; several nieces and nephews.
The family will gather to receive friends on Sunday, February 11, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Appalachian Funeral Home, 800 E. Watauga Avenue, Johnson City. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to First TN Area on Aging and Disability, 3211 N. Roan Street, Johnson City, TN 37601. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at NHC and Caris Hospice, with a very special thank you to Sam White at NHC for his kindness and compassion.
