Jimmy Dean McInturff, 64, Johnson City passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018 in the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and was a son of the late Sherman and Margaret Puckett McInturff. Mr. McInturff was retired from the City of Johnson City. He was of the Freewill Baptist faith. Mr. McInturff enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and playing rook with his special friends, Sheila Jenkins and Helen Minson.
Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Norma Honeycutt McInturff; his daughter, Angela McInturff and his son, Travis McInturff both of Johnson City; a sister, Rhonda Myers and her husband, Paul of Gray; his grandchildren, Layne, Keenan and Tyler McInturff; nephews, Josh Hinkle and wife, Brooke, Jason Hinkle and Connor, Nick and Garrett Myers; a niece, Jessica Myers; aunts, Jenny Arrowood, Jane Story and Shirley Elliott; uncles, Hobart Puckett, Landon, Jerry and Ray McInturff; several cousins, nieces and nephews; also his wife’s extended family.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 7:00 PM Thursday, October, 11, 2018 at the True Gospel Freewill Baptist Church, McArthur Street, Johnson City with Rev. Josh Hinkle officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until the service hour. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Doctors and staff in the 2300 and 2800 units of the Johnson City Medical Center for the excellent care they provided.
